India hasn't had a Superhero movie universe as Hollywood has with Marvel And DC. With technology, filmmaking has also changed and delved into a new realm of CGI and VFX. We are witnessing cinematic universes built around fictional comic characters with great storylines and visual effects. Films like Avengers, Superman, Spiderman, Ironman, etc., are prime examples of that.
India has also experimented with the superhero Genre with Ra.one, Robot 2.0, Krrish, Minnal Murali, Bhavesh Joshi, etc., and has experienced positive and negative results. However, this time an upcoming superhero mythic-fiction film, "Brahmastra," has fans hooked in its visual style with spectacular trailers. The CGI looks crisp and stunning, and the scale seems grand and immersive, promising that viewers can get a whole new experience with this one. Envisioned and Directed by Ayan Mukerji, Brahmastra is the first part of the Astraverse trilogy, which revolves around the history of Astras in ancient India and its relevance today in the form of fictionalized fantasy superhero story with Ranvir Kapoor's portrayal of Shiva as the main character. The film also has an excellent ensemble cast like Shahrukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, and many more. The budget is around 300 crores, with many portions completed by Indian VFX companies. India might get its superhero universe if it delivers to the hype and goes well with critics and audiences. The film opens on 9th September nationwide, with some cities having pre-screenings on 8th September.
