With 7.9 million new subscribers, Disney+Hotstar will get 100 original shows.

The Walt Disney Company declared that it is developing 100 original series in local content for the country where its Disney+Hotstar OTT platform reigns supreme. The news has been public after the company acquired 7.9 million Disney+ subscribers in the January-March period, bringing 137.9 million. According to the company's CEO, the company is reaching 230 to 260 million subscribers by fiscal 2024. Total memberships to Disney's streaming services (Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+) have surpassed 205 million in the second quarter of the year. The CEO has also mentioned they plan to produce 500 shows apart from US content, 150 shows for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, 140 for the Asia-Pacific region, including Southeast Asia, 200 for Latin America, and 100 for India.
