How to cancel a Tidal subscription or trial from India
Tidal, the high-fidelity music streaming service, lets you cancel a subscription or a trial at any time. The catch is finding who bills you. If you pay Tidal directly, you cancel at account.tidal.com or in the Android app. If you subscribed through an iPhone or Google Play, Tidal can't touch it and you cancel in that store. For readers in India there's an extra wrinkle: India isn't on Tidal's list of supported countries, so a Tidal plan here was usually set up abroad, through a foreign app-store account or a payment card billed in another currency. Below are Tidal's current steps, how to track down an app-store subscription that seems to be missing, and how to delete the account once billing stops.

Cancel Tidal on the web
Use this if Tidal bills your card directly.
- 1Visit account.tidal.com.
- 2Log in with your Tidal login and password.
- 3Go to **Subscription**.
- 4Click **Cancel Subscription** and confirm the cancellation.
Cancel in the Tidal Android app
In the Tidal Android app: tap the heart icon, tap the gear icon at the top right, tap Edit and then Manage Subscription, then scroll down and tap Subscription > Cancel Subscription.
Billed by Apple or Google Play
Apple: cancel from your iPhone's Settings > your name > Subscriptions. If you don't see an active Tidal subscription there, Tidal says you're being billed another way; Apple Support can confirm your Apple account status.
Google Play: on your Android device, open subscriptions in Google Play, select Tidal, tap Cancel subscription and follow the instructions. If Google Play shows no active Tidal subscription, the Play account was registered with a different email address, and only Google Play support can look it up.
| Billed by | Where to cancel | If you can’t find it |
|---|---|---|
| Tidal (card) | account.tidal.com > Subscription > Cancel Subscription | Check the email you signed up with |
| Tidal (Android app) | Heart > gear > Edit > Manage Subscription | Use the web route instead |
| Apple | iPhone Settings > your name > Subscriptions | Not listed = billed another way; ask Apple Support |
| Google Play | Google Play > Subscriptions > Tidal | Not listed = another Google account; ask Google Play support |
Why Tidal is hard to manage from India
Tidal's "Where Tidal is Available" page lists 61 countries across Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia and Oceania, and India isn't one of them. If you're paying for Tidal in India, check your card statement for a foreign-currency charge, and look in any App Store or Google Play account set to another country. Foreign-currency card charges can also attract forex markup from your bank, which makes an unused plan cost more than its sticker price.
If what you want is lossless audio from a service sold in India, Spotify's Premium Platinum plan (₹299/month, up to three accounts at one address) includes lossless playback.

Deleting your Tidal account
Cancelling stops billing but keeps the account. If you want it gone, Tidal has a separate account deletion process, and if you downloaded Tidal on an Apple device through the App Store, you can delete the account from inside the Tidal app. Cancel any app-store subscription first: deleting a Tidal account does not cancel an Apple or Google Play subscription, which keeps billing until you stop it in the store.
Frequently asked questions
How do I cancel my Tidal subscription?
If Tidal bills you directly, go to account.tidal.com, log in, open Subscription and click Cancel Subscription. If Apple or Google Play bills you, cancel in that store’s subscription settings.
Can I cancel a Tidal free trial?
Yes. Tidal says you can cancel your subscription or trial at any time, using the same steps as a paid plan.
Is Tidal available in India?
Not officially. India isn’t on Tidal’s list of countries where the service is available, so Indian users usually subscribed abroad or through a foreign app-store account.
Why can’t I see Tidal in my Google Play subscriptions?
Tidal says that means your account was registered with a different email address. Check other Google accounts, or contact Google Play support, since Tidal can’t see those details.
Does deleting my Tidal account stop payments?
Not for app-store subscriptions. Cancel in Apple or Google Play first, then delete the Tidal account.
Is there a lossless music option sold in India?
Spotify Premium Platinum, at ₹299 a month, includes lossless audio and covers up to three accounts at one address.
How do I cancel Tidal on an iPhone?
If you subscribed through the App Store, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose Tidal and tap Cancel Subscription. If Tidal isn’t listed there, Tidal says you’re billed another way, so check account.tidal.com.
