Westside gift card: a store-only voucher you spend in one bill

Westside vouchers are issued on behalf of Trent Limited and come as a 16-digit card number with a 6-digit PIN, delivered by email or SMS. They can't be reloaded or extended, and Trent doesn't cancel a voucher once it is issued. The upside is that they work during End of Season Sales and other promotional pricing, so you can combine the Subspace discount with Westside's own sale prices.

Since unspent value lapses, aim for a bill that is equal to or a little above your voucher total, and pay the gap by card or UPI. Smaller vouchers give you more control because several can go into one bill.

Say your shopping comes to ₹2,600. Two vouchers of ₹2,000 and ₹500 cover ₹2,500, and you pay ₹100 at the counter. A single ₹5,000 voucher on the same bill would waste ₹2,400. If you're gifting, a few ₹500 or ₹1,000 vouchers are kinder than one large one, because the person can split them across visits.

Two more habits help. Pick the clothes first and add up the tags before you reach the counter, so you know which vouchers to hand over. And keep every voucher's PIN somewhere safe until the day you shop: Trent won't replace a voucher if the PIN is lost or used by someone else.

Westside asks you to confirm the store accepts e-gift vouchers before you shop, which takes a minute at the billing counter.

Westside sells its own labels across womenswear, menswear, kidswear, footwear, lingerie, beauty, accessories and home furnishings. That makes the voucher a good fit for:

• Family festive shopping, where one trip covers clothes for parents and kids.
• Someone who prefers trying clothes on rather than ordering and returning online.
• New homes, since the home section covers cushions, bedding and décor.

It is a poor fit for anyone who lives far from a Westside store or only shops on their phone. For them, a Myntra or AJIO card works better.
