Amazon gift card codes: shopping vouchers, Pay gift cards and promo codes explained

Look at the code length to tell them apart. A Shopping Voucher code is 13 characters long, not counting hyphens, and lives in a separate Amazon Vouchers balance that never mixes with Amazon Pay balance. An Amazon Pay Gift Card has a 14-character claim code and its value goes into Amazon Pay balance, which can pay for a wider range of things on Amazon. A promo code just lowers the price of a qualifying order.

The voucher is meant for physical products sold on amazon.in. According to the issuer's terms, it is not eligible for:

• Kindle eBooks and digital content such as e-books and video games
• Amazon Pay Gift Cards, or adding money to Amazon Pay balance
• Other brand gift cards
• Payments outside amazon.in where Amazon Pay is offered
• Amazon Pay categories: mobile and DTH recharges, bill payments, flight, train, movie and bus tickets, investments and insurance, gas cylinders and other utilities, subscriptions and donations

The voucher must be added to the Amazon account that will spend it; it cannot be moved to another account later.

The Amazon voucher discount is modest, but it applies to every rupee of your regular shopping. If you already spend a set amount on Amazon each month, buying vouchers for that amount and paying from them takes a little off everything you buy, with no offer hunting.
