Pay your Mahanagar Gas (MGL) bill online in Mumbai
Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) supplies piped gas to homes in Mumbai and neighbouring areas, including Thane, Navi Mumbai and parts of Raigad. An MGL bill carries two numbers: the CA number (contract account), which banks and Bharat BillPay apps use to fetch your bill, and the BP number (business partner), which MGL uses in its own customer zone. MGL bills every two months, and from 1 September 2026 it raised the domestic PNG price by ₹1 per SCM. You can pay your Mahanagar Gas bill on MGL’s website, at its drop boxes and walk-in centres, or on Subspace through Bharat BillPay. CA number or BP number: which one to use
Both numbers appear on your MGL bill. Use the CA number when you pay through a bank, a UPI app or a Bharat BillPay app such as Subspace; these services list the biller as “Mahanagar Gas Limited” and ask for the CA number to fetch the amount. MGL’s own service forms, such as name transfer, ask for the BP number or CA number. If a service rejects one number, check that you haven’t entered the other.

What the September 2026 price change means for your bill
MGL raised domestic PNG by ₹1 per standard cubic metre (SCM) from 1 September 2026, citing higher input gas costs; CNG went up by ₹2 per kg at the same time. MGL’s rate card on its website shows the current per-SCM price. Because your bill covers two months, the increase adds ₹1 for every SCM used in that period, plus applicable taxes.

Pay your Mahanagar Gas bill on Subspace
Subspace connects to MGL through Bharat BillPay. The amount is fetched from MGL’s system, and the payment is posted to your account through BBPS. Subspace isn’t MGL, so supply, readings and disputes go to MGL directly.

MGL’s customer zone lets you view the current bill, billing and payment history, log your meter reading (even without registering), manage NACH auto-debit and apply for a name transfer.
