Tata Play channel list: what’s in your pack and how to change it
Tata Play carries hundreds of channels, but the list that matters is the one active on your box. That's what you're billed for each month. Tata Play gives four official ways to see it: the app, the website, a missed call and an SMS. Once you know what you have, TRAI's rules let you add or drop single channels, switch packs, or trim to the free-to-air basic tier. This page walks through each method, explains how network capacity fee (NCF) and channel prices work after TRAI's 2024 changes, and shows how to recharge Tata Play on Subspace with your subscriber ID. Pack prices aren't listed because Tata Play's official pages don't publish them in a form we could verify.

Four ways to see the channels in your Tata Play pack
Each method below comes from Tata Play's own help pages. Use your registered mobile number for the missed call and SMS options, otherwise the reply won't reach you.
The app is the most complete: Manage Pack, then View my channels, lists every channel in your pack. The website shows the same list under View List, along with your monthly recharge amount and current balance, which is handy before you recharge.
| Method | What to do | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Tata Play app | Manage Pack → View my channels | Full list of channels in your pack |
| Tata Play website | Log in with registered mobile → View List | Channels, monthly recharge amount and balance |
| Missed call | Call 8880488804 from your registered mobile | Pack details by SMS |
| SMS | Send BD to 56633 from your registered mobile | Pack details by SMS |
| Toll-free helpline | 1800 208 6633 | Help if the list or changes don’t show |
What TRAI’s rules let you change
Since February 2019, TRAI's tariff framework has let viewers pick channels a-la-carte or as packs, and every pay channel has a published price (MRP). Your bill is NCF + the MRP of each pay channel or pack you choose + GST.
Two things changed in July 2024. TRAI removed the ceilings on NCF, which had been ₹130 for up to 200 channels and ₹160 for more, before tax. Operators now set NCF themselves, and Tata Play says its NCF depends on the number of channels, the region and the class of consumer. TRAI also allowed operators to discount packs by up to 45% against the sum of their channels' individual prices.
Tata Play's FTA Basic pack is the basic service tier: 100 free-to-air SD channels. Tata Play's FAQ notes that NCF applies even if you only keep free-to-air channels, so the lowest bill is NCF plus GST.
Former maximum NCF before GST under TRAI’s tariff framework. TRAI’s July 2024 amendment removed both ceilings; each operator now publishes its own NCF, which can vary by channel count, region and customer class.
| Up to 200 channels (old cap) | ₹130 |
|---|---|
| More than 200 channels (old cap) | ₹160 |
Adding or dropping a channel
Tata Play's FAQ lists a WhatsApp option: send Add or Drop, a space and the channel's EPG number (for example, "Add 470" or "Drop 470"). You can also change channels in Manage Pack in the app. Each pay channel you add is charged at its MRP on top of NCF, and that increases your monthly recharge.
If a change doesn't go through, Tata Play's FAQ says to check whether your account is deactivated. If it is, recharge first and then make the change. Changes to an inactive account won't apply.
