Spotify Premium for less: the options that work in India

Genuine Spotify codes come from two places: Spotify gift cards and partner promotions, where a brand or device maker gives buyers a Premium period. Each code works once. After someone redeems it, it's gone. That's why a list of "working codes" on a coupon blog can't work: if a code was real, the first visitor used it.

Generator sites and Telegram channels that promise unlimited codes usually ask you to sign in with your Spotify or Google account, install an app or complete "offers" first. Spotify's India line-up is now short: Standard, Platinum and Student, plus a prepaid Standard pack. Mini, Individual, Duo, Family and Lite are no longer listed. Divide Platinum by the people using it and it becomes the cheapest non-student option. Paying alone, the 12-month prepaid pack saves about ₹23 a month over monthly Standard and has no auto-debit.

Spotify moved India to new tiers in late 2025, then dropped Lite and cut prices about six months later. Standard fell from ₹199 to ₹139 and Student from ₹99 to ₹69. If you are still on an old plan, check what you pay against this table.

Platinum is priced for a household: up to three accounts, each with its own library and recommendations, as long as everyone lives at the same address. Flatmates are the obvious fit. A Subspace group lets each person pay their share in the app instead of one person fronting ₹299 every month.

Spotify's free tier is real and costs nothing. You get the full catalogue with ads, and you can't download music for offline listening. For many people that covers a commute. The other legal route is Spotify's intro offer. On 12 October 2026 it was two months of Premium Standard for ₹139, then ₹139 a month, for accounts that have never had Premium. Students get two months for ₹69 on the same terms. If you have used Premium before, you won't see the offer.
