How to cancel a Sony LIV subscription and close your account

For subscriptions paid with a credit card, debit card, UPI or a wallet, cancel inside the SonyLIV app.

Store-billed plans must be cancelled in the store. SonyLIV can't see or stop them.

If you bought a SonyLIV pack with any payment mode not listed here, SonyLIV says you are charged only once and the subscription expires automatically when the pack ends.

SonyLIV is blunt about this: all plans are non-refundable. It does not give refunds or credits for partial-month periods or unwatched content. Cancelling only stops the next renewal charge.

The upside is that you keep watching until your plan expires. If you paid for a year and cancel in month two, you still get the remaining ten months. For Google Play or Apple purchases, any refund request goes to that store under its own rules.

SonyLIV's helpdesk has an article titled "How to deactivate account?", but the steps it gives are the cancellation flow above: Need More Help > Subscription Issue > I would like to cancel my subscription. It doesn't describe a self-serve button that permanently deletes your profile.

To close the account fully, first cancel any active plan, then use the Chat with us or Contact us option at the bottom of any SonyLIV helpdesk article and ask support to delete the account and its data. Keep the confirmation message. Store-billed plans (Google Play, Apple) must still be cancelled in the store, because closing the SonyLIV account won't stop store billing.

Many people cancel the monthly LIV Premium plan when the annual plan or Mobile Only would cost less. Annual LIV Premium also allows 2 screens, so two people can share it. A SonyLIV group on Subspace lets you pay a share instead of a solo plan, and Subspace also lists discounted SonyLIV vouchers.
