Pay your DGVCL bill on Subspace, and find it on the DGVCL portal
Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (DGVCL) supplies electricity across south Gujarat from its headquarters in Surat, with circles at Surat, Bharuch and Valsad. Every DGVCL light bill carries an 11-digit consumer number, and that number is all you need to pay. You can pay on the GUVNL quick-pay portal that DGVCL uses, at a DGVCL office, or through any Bharat Connect (BBPS) app, including Subspace, where the amount due is fetched from DGVCL when you enter the number. Below: where to find the consumer number, how to view and download a DGVCL bill, what each online payment method costs on the official portal, and how the residential tariff is worked out.

Your DGVCL consumer number
Low-tension (LT) consumers, which covers homes and most shops, have an 11-digit consumer number printed near the top of the bill. DGVCL's own payment FAQ uses it for everything: paying online, registering a mobile number and getting the bill by SMS. High-tension (HT) industrial connections use a different, shorter number.
To get bills and payment alerts on your phone, send an SMS in the format Reg 12345678901 (with your own consumer number) to 9925900003, or use the mobile registration link on dgvcl.com. Registered numbers receive billing SMS and email, and an MPIN that lets you create a login to manage several connections together.
If you've lost the bill, the consumer number also appears on old payment receipts and in the payment history of any app you've paid from before.
View, download or check a DGVCL bill
DGVCL's website groups its bill tools under Online Payment on dgvcl.com. The useful ones for a household are:
- View Bill History: past bills for your consumer number, which is where you check or download a bill.
- View Payment History: every payment recorded against the connection, useful when a payment made elsewhere hasn't shown up.
- View Consumption History: units used per billing cycle.
- Last Bill Payment Receipt: a copy of the receipt for your latest payment.
- Quick Payment status: whether a payment made on the quick-pay portal went through.
Each of these asks only for the 11-digit consumer number. If a payment made through a BBPS app doesn't appear in the payment history after a couple of working days, keep the app's transaction reference handy and call DGVCL customer care on 1800-233-3003.
Ways to pay, and what the official portal charges
DGVCL's quick pay runs on the shared GUVNL portal at mpay.guvnl.in, where you pick DGVCL, enter the consumer number and pay by card, UPI, net banking or wallet. DGVCL publishes processing fees for each method on its payment FAQ, summarised below. Bharat Connect apps such as Subspace show their own fee, if any, before you confirm. DGVCL also says it doesn't run offers on online payments; any cashback comes from the payment provider.
| Method | Bill up to ₹2,000 | Bill above ₹2,000 |
|---|---|---|
| Net banking | Nil for the first payment per bill; ₹2.50 after that | Same |
| UPI | Nil | 0.85% + GST |
| Debit card | Nil | 0.85% + GST (min ₹5) |

How DGVCL’s residential tariff is charged
Homes are billed under the RGP (residential general purpose) tariff, which the Gujarat regulator GERC sets for all four GUVNL companies. Energy is charged in telescopic slabs per month, with lower rates in villages (RGP Rural) than in towns. A small fixed charge depends on connected load: ₹15 a month up to 2 kW, ₹25 for 2–4 kW, ₹45 for 4–6 kW and ₹70 above 6 kW. Prepaid smart-meter users pay slightly less per unit.
The energy charge is only part of the bill. A fuel and power purchase adjustment (FPPAS) is added per unit, currently ₹2.45 per unit plus 3.99% under GUVNL's circular for consumption from 1 July 2026, and electricity duty is extra. There is no delayed payment charge if you pay within 10 days of the bill date; after the due date it's 15% a year.
