Apple Music for students in India: what the offer includes

Student members get the same Apple Music as everyone else: the full catalogue, lossless audio, Dolby Atmos spatial audio, lyrics and downloads, on iPhone, Mac, Android and the web. On top of that, Apple's India page says the plan comes with access to Apple TV at no extra cost.

Three conditions matter. The Apple TV access ends if you no longer qualify or don't renew. It doesn't extend to a Family Sharing group, so family members don't get it through you. And student pricing lasts up to four years while you remain a student, after which the plan moves to the Individual price.

Apple checks that you are enrolled at a college or university before the student price applies. Keep your college email or ID ready.

Apple Music Student and Spotify Student cost the same, and Apple's adds a video service. YouTube Music Student is slightly cheaper but covers music only, while YouTube Premium Student costs more and removes ads from all of YouTube.

Not at college? The Family plan is the cheapest Apple Music per person if you can share it: ₹229 a month covers up to six people through Family Sharing, which comes to under ₹40 each when full. If you only want to try the plan, cancel at least a day before the free month ends. On an iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose Apple Music and cancel.
