Best of Amazon Prime Video: Bollywood films, Hindi series, anime and family picks

Before you hunt for a title, know which shelf it is on and whether it costs extra:

Hindi theatrical films join Prime Video after the eight-week window that multiplexes require, and Amazon also premieres films directly on the service. Many Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam hits stream with Hindi audio, which widens the "Bollywood" shelf considerably. The fastest way to the good ones is a viewer ranking: on JustWatch India, filter by Prime Video, choose Hindi or a genre, and sort by IMDb rating. Filter by release year to catch up on a year you missed. In the app, search by director as well as actor; it surfaces older films the home screen never shows.

Amazon's 2026 India slate runs to about 55 originals in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, and Hindi series remain the largest share. To see the full Hindi web series list, open the Amazon Originals row and switch the language filter to Hindi, or search "Hindi series" and browse by genre. New seasons usually drop all episodes on one day, announced in the app's Coming Soon row and on Prime Video India's social accounts a week or two before. Add a series to your watchlist to get a notification when the next season lands.

Prime Video includes a set of anime series and films in the Prime catalogue, and in June 2024 Amazon added Crunchyroll as a paid Prime Video Channel in India, with some titles dubbed in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Channel titles need that separate subscription; look for the Channel badge on the poster before you press play. Search "anime" in the app, or filter JustWatch India by Prime Video and the animation genre, to see what is included without a Channel. Channel prices change, so check the current price under Channels in the app.

Create a kids profile from the profile menu and Prime Video limits that profile to children's titles, which keeps autoplay suggestions sensible. Family films, from animated features to Indian family dramas, sit in the Kids and Family rows on the main profile. Kids content is included with Prime and Prime Lite, with no extra charge. Watching together on a TV needs full Prime, because Prime Lite allows a single device.

Annual billing is the biggest saving: Prime costs ₹1,499 a year against ₹299 a month. Ad-free viewing adds ₹699 a year on the annual add-on. Prime Lite is cheapest at ₹799 but limited to one device in HD with ads. Subspace also sells Amazon Prime vouchers at 15–19% off at the time of writing.
