Tamil and Telugu movies on Prime Video: how to find them and which plan to pick

Prime Video’s home screen mixes languages, so regional films get buried. A few settings fix that:

Prime Lite gives you Prime Video on one device, mobile or TV, in HD up to 720p with ads, and it cannot buy the ad-free add-on. Full Prime streams up to 4K on up to five devices including two TVs, and you can add ad-free on top. If you watch alone on a phone, Lite covers it. If the family watches on a big TV, full Prime is the realistic choice.

Paid monthly, Prime is the expensive way in. Annual Prime costs about ₹125 a month, and Prime Lite about ₹67. Removing ads adds roughly ₹58 a month on the annual add-on. The free, ad-supported section costs nothing, but it carries older films and shows rather than new theatrical releases.

Tamil and Telugu films usually start streaming about four weeks after their theatrical release. Hindi versions follow the multiplex chains' eight-week rule, so the Hindi audio track of a South Indian hit can appear on Prime Video a month after the original. If you only see a film in Tamil today, check back around the eight-week mark for Hindi. Some new films also appear first in Prime Video's rental store, where you pay per title, before they join the Prime catalogue.
